Meet Katie Greene, the seller behind the Etsy.com shop PaperBijou.  I first heard about Katie’s shop via my Etsy Item of the Day shop submission page. When I came to Katie’s shop, I loved her autumn collection of paper bead bracelets!

“I’m Katie, 23 years old, and I currently live on the gorgeous Florida coast. I’m pretty much the most un-crafty person ever, but earlier in the year I decided to give paper beads a try,” Katie told me.  ”Now I have my own shop and have awoken the Martha Stewart within… I want to craft all the things!”

When she’s not crafting for her jewelry shop, Katie stays busy.

“I keep busy either playing with my two insane Dachshunds, reading, or spending too much time browsing Pinterest or Tumblr,” she told me.  I can relate – I’m a Pinterest addict!

I like to ask handmade sellers where they like to browse on Etsy.com.  Katie told me about two great shops she likes.

“I love CrownAndCole! She makes the most divine recycled glass earrings. I have two pairs that instantly make me happier when I wear them,” Katie said.

“Nelliana makes amazing origami lampshades,” Katie continued. “I am in absolute awe of their work.. I didn’t even realize they were paper at first!”

Katie’s advice to other Etsy sellers is to be patient.  ”It’s a marathon, not a race!” she said.

“Also, don’t underestimate the power of SEO,” Katie advises.
