Typography Word Art
Item: Typography Beach Rules Sign
Seller: barnowlprimitives
Loving this summer typography sign from Etsy seller Kristi Quill, the seller behind a shop called BarnOwlPrimitives!
Kristi is a stay at home mom to her two kids, 4 and 2. “We enjoy trips to the library, walks to the park and making big messes in the kitchen! I am blessed to be able to stay home with them, and grateful for all the quality time that I get to spend with them. I do have to remind myself of this when we are waiting in line at the grocery store and they are filling our cart with candy and magazines, but it’s so worth it! (especially when People Magazine and a pack of Starburst sneak by!) When they go to sleep, I get to craft and create with paints that aren’t “washable”, often until the wee hours of the morning! I do miss sleep, but I’ve adjusted and enjoy having that time to myself to be creative,” she told me in her Etsy shop submission.
Kristi is selling these awesome vintage-style typography signs in her Etsy shop. Here is another sign I love:
When she’s not crafting, Kristi says she loves flowers and puttering around her yard with her kids. “I love beach combing, searching for sea glass, sharks teeth and fossils. I enjoy quality time with my family and close friends. I’m a sucker for romantic comedies and anything on HGTV,” she said.

“My favorite shop is humblebea. Natalie is such a sweetheart and her shop is enchanting. I love stopping by to see what new things she has brought to life! Her shop is so inviting and you can get lost in the magic that she creates! I encourage you to grab a cup of coffee and visit her shop! You won’t be disappointed,” she said.
If you’re new to selling your handmade items on Etsy.com, Kristi has some great advice. She recommends sellers take time to get to know fellow sellers. “Join a team, start conversations with shops that you are drawn to and don’t be afraid to ask for help and guidance. I meet a lot of wonderful shop owners by making treasuries and sending notes to those that I include in my collections,” she told me in her shop submission. “I’ve met some wonderful artisans who have inspired me to make improvements in my own shop. Pictures and your item descriptions are so important. Good use of your tags is a must! I subscribe to and make time to read all the powerful information that Etsy creates and shares with their members! You have to be your own best friend and educate yourself on all the tools that Etsy provides for your success.”
Love this seller? Follow her Etsy shop on Facebook! Be sure to check back to see what’s new. Right now, Kristi says she has several new typography signs in the works! In the fall, she hopes to list some fabulous new door decor.
“I get bored easily and am constantly looking for new things to create,” she told me. I’m excited to see what’s next for this shop!
