Item: Ballet Flats in Lime Green

I am a fan of a nice pair of extra high heels, but there comes a time somewhere between autumn and winter where I make the dreaded decision.  Putting away the heels until spring.

It’s just too darn cold and, frankly, dangerous to walk along the snowy sidewalks in a sexy pair of heels.  Plus, I cannot tell you how many pairs of tights I have ripped up thinking “this time I won’t fall.”  I always do.  Ouch!

I’m approaching that time that comes between autumn and winter, and so I’m on the look out for a nice pair of flats.  And not grandma flats.  Or lame colored flats.

I was stoked to come across this vegan shoe shop on Etsy.com!  Check out the unique lime flats above.  They also come in orange, navy, olive, and chocolate.

Item:  Gypsy Hat

Fall is upon us!  I wanted to share this cute handmade hat I found on Etsy thanks to a shop submission on Etsy Item of the Day.  The hat is selling for $32.00 and I am loving it!

Handmade seller Jess Lyons is the person behind this fun Etsy shop.

“I’m a scientist, explorer and crafter living in Upstate New York,” Jess said.

When she’s not crafting she told me she is usually working on her PhD and traveling around the world, studying people and collecting cool things.

“I’m also big into spinning, yoga and running,” Jess shared.

When I asked her about shops she likes to browse on Etsy.com, Jess told me she buys almost all her jewelry off of Etsy.

“Some of my favorites are deliasthompson and sanfranblissco – their work is so creative and expressive (and affordable!),” Jess said.

Jess shared some great advice for other Etsy sellers with me:

“It’s hard work and not easy at all, don’t let the first few months (especially if they seem to be slow) get you down,” she said.  ”ALSO! Be sure to read all the helpful tips from Etsy, especially those about photography, they are really informative and helpful.”

So what’s next for Jess’ shop RagamuffinDesign?

“Hopefully stocking up for the rush of holiday season, and expanding my collection,” she said.

So…

Do you ever wish you could wear your mood on your sleeve?  Literally.

The last couple days have been slightly hectic (to say the least) and it would be a massive understatement to say that I’ve been in a bad mood.

When I searched “bad day” on Etsy.com, there were a bunch of search results that clearly were for a bad hair day, and that wasn’t quite a fit for how I was feeling!  By “bad day”, I mean one of those days where pulling your hair out sounds like an awesome solution.  Either that, or kicking and screaming like a 5 year old.

Well, you guys will be happy to hear I did not do any of those things, and tried to carry on with the project at hand.
