Item: Almost Famous Stillwater Gig Poster
Seller: guiltycubicle

Meet Alex Kittle, the artist behind the Etsy shop GuiltyCubicle. I heard about Alex’s cool art shop via an Etsy Item of the Day shop submission.
“I’m a movie fanatic based in the Boston area,” Alex told me. “I’ve got a pretty useless art history degree but I hope to be a curator someday. For now I work at a museum gift shop and do marketing/personal assistant stuff for a local filmmaker. In my spare time I make art inspired by films (and sometimes tv and music) I love!”
In her Etsy profile, Alex says because of her love of all things film, she started making movie-related artwork. She creates a new piece every week for a film she viewed recently.
“I’ll be offering the ones I like best in this shop. For the most part I work with pencil, pen, and ink, but sometimes I delve into paintings, collages, and digital work. I dabble in portraits of musicians as well,” she writes in her Etsy profile.
One of my favorite pieces from Alex is the Almost Famous poster pictured above and is selling for $12.00 on Etsy.com.
“In Cameron Crowe’s much-loved ode to rock music and road trips, ALMOST FAMOUS, the long-haired rock group Stillwater offers egos, riffs, and hi-jinks for all,” Alex writes in the item description. “My original poster design highlights their tour bus, the setting of several key scenes in the film.”
I asked Alex what she likes to do when she’s not working on new pieces for her Etsy.com shop, and here’s what she said:
“My major hobby is watching movies, but I also read a lot and visit art exhibitions. And spend way too much time on twitter,” she said. You can join Alex on Twitter by following her at @filmforager.
Alex says that there are so many great shops she loves on Etsy, but dadadreams might be her favorite.
“She’s of the first sellers I ever found on etsy and I am constantly impressed by her marvelous collage creations, which are funny, imaginative, and always striking,” she said.
So what is next on deck for Alex’s Etsy shop?
“I’ve been working on a series of gig posters for fake movie bands, so I’ll continue with that. I’d like to get back into painting and collage, too, since it’s been awhile,” she said.
