Love umbrella card 225x300 Love Umbrella Card

I met Etsy seller Hatty via my Etsy Item of the Day shop submission page.  I adore her darling “I Love You” card, which is selling for $4.17 at her Etsy shop, which is called HelloHatty.

I am a 24 year old illustrator wannabee. I love drawing!” Hatty told me in her shop submission. “I live near London in the UK and work in international trade. I studied languages at university and after graduating and finding my job in London I had to move back home as I couldn’t afford to live in the city. I have always loved doodling and one day decided to take a little sketchbook with me on the train whilst commuting to work. The rest is history as they say!

What started off as some doodling has now evolved into my very own little online greeting card shop. And whats more, people who aren’t my mum are actually buying my cards! I can’t believe it,” she said.

When she’s not working on items for her Etsy shop, Hatty keeps busy.

I love to play the piano (as seen in my shop – all my cards are photographed on top of my piano!). Recently I have also been doing lots of making and drawing in preparation for my friend’s wedding as she wants a ‘handmade’ edge,” she told me. “The best part about this has been drawing on her wellies (all is explained in my blog!)

Hatty says she likes to shop at an Etsy store called littleonealgernon.

The zines are fantastic. Full of detail and lovely line drawings,” she tells me.

Hatty’s advice to fellow Etsy sellers is to be patient.  ”Patience is key. Do one little thing every day that will build on your shop’s reputation and image and keep increasing the traffic to your listings. Social media is an excellent way to do this,” she said.

I was happy to hear that Hatty had a great holiday season and is on to the next step in her shop.

After the big success of my Christmas cards (completely sold out!) I am now scribbling away to finish lots of new designs. I have so many ideas and am eager to get going,” she said.

Be sure to follow Hatty on Twitter @HelloHatty!

New House Greeting Card

RedLetterPaperCo is such an awesome Etsy shop!

I sort of have a thing for great paper items and if you’re like me, Etsy.com is the best place to find great items.  I met the seller behind RedLetterPaperCo via my Etsy Item of the Day shop submission page and fell in love with her cute shop.

I’m a Georgia peach who got married and moved north and wound up in NYC. (Ok, ok, just outside NYC. My commute to Manhattan is 7 minutes.) I love my family, good grammar, and chocolate,” Stephanie told me.

When she’s not working on great paper items for her Etsy shop, Stephanie stays busy.

Sleep! One of my favorite things. I also spend time catching up on reading cool blogs,” she said. “Being a largely self-taught designer, I love to learn new things, too, so you can often find me exploring the Web for neat how-to’s and tips.

I asked Stephanie where she likes to shop on Etsy, and she told me about a darling shop.

JulieAnnArt. I probably shouldn’t say another card person, but it’s true. I think her ideas and execution are fantastic, but I think it’s cool we can both do something similar in our own unique ways,” she said.

I am a huge fan of JulieAnnArt too!  Did you guys see my feature of this seller awhile back?

Stephanie shared three awesome tips for other handmade sellers:

1) Stick with it. Don’t give up. Keep changing and evolving. If it’s not working, fix it.

2) You are worth more than you think you are.

3) Relevancy is key.

So what’s coming up next for Stephanie’s shop?

I’m just beginning to turn some of my cards into art prints. And I’ve got lots of ideas for prints that don’t necessarily work for cards, so that’s an ongoing project,” she explained. “I’m always searching for cool new ideas to add to my little business. So I plan to just keep designing, keep playing, keep going.

Loving Stephanie’s work? Be sure to connect with her online!  Visit her Etsy shop by clicking the shop link (RedLetterPaperCo) at the top of this feature.  You can also visit her blog, follow the shop on Facebook, and tweet her @RLPCo!

NEW YORK CITY Typography Poster 300x300 NYC Typography Poster

In honor of my surgery day for LASIK, I wanted to share this darling typography print listed by Etsy seller GoingUnderground.

It measure 11 inches by 17 inches (great size for wall decor) and is selling for a mere $20. Great price for a unique and fun item.

I’m crossing my fingers that after the procedure today, I’ll be able to see a print like this from across my home office. Wish me luck!
