Orange Yellow Leaves of Autumn 300x237 Leaves of Autumn Print

How is everyone liking Autumn in their neck of the woods?  Fall is one of my favorite times of the year!

When I saw this cool print from an Etsy shop called EyeShutterToThink, I thought it would be fun to share it with you guys too.  Isn’t it lovely!?

I met Diana, the photographer behind this Etsy shop, via my Etsy Item of the Day shop submission page.

I’m Diana, hobbyist photographer and nature lover,” she told me.  ”After meeting my husband in 2005, we began traveling and exploring new places. We take local drive trips, planned vacations and spontaneous adventures whenever life allows. My photography is a result of those excursions.”

Diana told me she specializes in vivid color and strong composition.

I don’t shy away from bold things and I don’t think photography should either,” she said.  ”I like to make a statement with my prints!

Diana’s not kidding!  Check out these cool, lively prints selling in her Etsy shop:

Victorian Carnival Swings Macro 300x200 Leaves of Autumn Print

Blue Chevrolet BelAir Classic Car 300x200 Leaves of Autumn Print

Love, love, love these colorful prints!  If you love exciting photography, be sure to check out this shop!

I like to ask Etsy sellers where they enjoy shopping on Etsy.com.

I like to visit Amy’s jewelry and knit shop. It’s called WireDreamsDesign and she makes stunning wire wrapped pendants,” Diana told me.  ”I own three and always get compliments on how original they are. She picks the highest quality stones & has unique designs in her wrapping style. She also knits gorgeous scarves.

Diana shared some excellent advice to others selling on Etsy.com:

My advice would be to research your market and get out there to see what your potential customers are looking for. Hit up the forums for ideas and advice from Etsy top sellers, because they know what is best and how to get results,” she said.

What’s coming up next for EyeShutterToThink?

I plan to add photo pendants to my shop soon, as well as discounts on sets of 3 or more in varying sizes,” she told me.

Black and White Nostalgia Shop Chicago 300x200 Photograph of Black & White Nostalgia Shop

Meet Mary Lou Jacobs, the seller behind an Etsy shop called CustomPhotoPics.  This seller has so many cool photographs listed.  My absolute favorite is the one above of the old Nostalgia Shop in Chicago.  This shop has been gone for years, so this photograph is really special.  This blank photo greeting card is perfect for all occasions and is packaged in a cellophane bag.  It’s selling for $3.00.

Here are some other awesome prints from this Etsy seller:

Guitar Rainbow 300x200 Photograph of Black & White Nostalgia Shop

I enjoy people, traveling, walking and of course Starbucks!!” Mary Lou told me in her submission to Etsy Item of the Day.  ”I am an unemployed medical assistant who loves taking photographs and turned that into a business that I love. My first love is being with my granddaughters. We have sleepovers, play, go swimming and have tons of fun.  I enjoy getting in the car and searching out places/things that will create uniquely beautiful photographs. I am a baker and enjoy creating yummy desserts!!

When I asked Mary Lou where she likes to shop on Etsy.com, she told me about Audrey’s Fabric and Trim.

Audrey is very friendly and always available to help her customers find what they want in her vast selection of gorgeous fabrics and accessories,” she said.

Mary Lou has great advice to other Etsy sellers:

Read as much as you can about Etsy and join some of the teams,” she suggests. “Team members are willing to help answer questions and guide you in the right direction.  Teams are also a good way to promote your craft and get your name out there.

So what’s next for CustomPhotoPics?

My shop is a work in progress and I am always adding or redoing items. My hope is for growth in both my shop and my photography,” she said.

Love Mary Lou’s photography? Check out her Facebook page and be sure to follow her on Twitter @CustomPhotoPics!

Autumn Leaf Photograph

Autumn Photo 300x240 Autumn Leaf Photograph

I am really enjoying the change of season lately!

There are a few things on my autumn to-do list that I am vowing to get done this month:

1.  Screw spring cleaning, I need to do some serious fall cleaning around my condo.  Time to pack up all the summer clothes and put them into storage and bring out the sweaters and boots!

2.  I am looking for ways to switch up my summer work-out routine with some fall activities.  Any ideas out there to get some exercise while enjoying the loveliness of autumn?

3.  I live near the mountains, so I am going to take an afternoon to head up to nature and take it in!  Even if it’s just for an hour, I need to be sure to not miss the leaves beginning to change!

What are you planning to do for the season change?  Any switch-ups in the routine?

Wine is Mandatory in France 300x224 Wine in France Photograph

Meet Etsy photographer Christine Schneider.  Christine lives in Phoenix, AZ and I heard about her shop via my Etsy Item of the Day submission page!

I am a full time special education teacher and part time photographer and painter (well though I would like to think this is a full time job as well considering how much time I spend brainstorming, promoting, and creating),” she told me.  ”I am a photographer and painter and have been doing these crafts seriously since I was a freshman in high school (though I was crafting and sculpting from an even earlier age with my grandmother). I am passionate about art and what it has taught me, and don’t think I could ever give up creating.

When she isn’t taking lovely photos for her Etsy shop, she is teaching and she says she truly loves her work.

I love helping kids in many aspects,” Christine told me.  ”When I was their age (in high school) I remember not fitting in, and yearning to be in art class because it was my safe haven. I feel like I can relate to my kids because high school is not always a kind place and I can give them support both with their academics and with their social issues.”

When Christine wants to shop on Etsy, she says she likes to go to these two shops:

1. MerCurios: “I LOVE her work and moreover admire her style and business sense,” Christine says. “Her pieces are beautiful and unconventional, so you know that its truly one of a kind. I like how her pieces are so raw and independent of anything else in the market. It seems like she keeps her shop and her craft very true to herself and I think that is essential. I also like that she is willing to help out her fellow Etsyians and she has given me advice many times.

2. HarmlessHabit: “Love this shop as well,” she tells me.  ”She makes some very fun flasks that I find truly unique and a little but raw. I like that they look handmade and not like something punched out of a factory. I think she has a great product that is very fun, humorous at times, and stylish (if looking good while taking a sip of Jack is a priority to you).

I asked Christine if she has any advice for other Etsy sellers, and she shared some great tips:
