So remember when I was talking about itching for a day at the lake the other day?

Well…

Yesterday I did something a little bit out of character.

I turned off my computer, left my phone home, bought some cheap blow up floaties at Target and enjoyed an afternoon at the lake!

…AND it was a Monday!

What’s super rad is that I didn’t do it for any real reason.  If there’s anything to know about me, it’s that I typically do things for a reason.

I don’t think I burned many calories, I didn’t need a tan, and I already had a weekend filled with significant other time.

I just did it because it’s summer!

“I began sewing when I was just five years old,” she told me.  ”My mom and I made most of my clothing then, until eventually I started sewing by myself: making my own clothes, curtains, and all clothing and home decor for my Barbie dolls.  After graduating from college, I decided to pursue my dream of making my craft my job. I started making new designs, and building my inventory until eventually I opened up my Etsy shop.”

If you’re looking for some great home decor, check out TheWoodenAttic, an Etsy shop by Steve Tschech.  I met this seller via an Etsy Item of the Day shop submission, and I really love his work!

My favorite item is this cool distressed shelf, coat rack, and organizer.  It has tons of useful features and the color is awesome!

“[I was a] toy inventor for past 20 years with some success with the toy industry including the first NERF dartgun in 1991 which continues to be a strong line for Hasbro today,” Steve told me. “Professional background as an industrial model maker and designer. Joined Etsy in fall of 2010 as an outlet for my woodworking talents. Have always charished things handmade where an artisan has placed a piece of their life forever.”

Item: Vintage Navy Ammo Box

Sorry for the photo overload folks, but I cannot get enough of this vintage ammo box.  Each photo on the Etsy listing had a different angle of the box and I love each one!!

This lovely large vintage ammunition box is in good condition and selling for $48.00.  It measures 18.25 inches in length, 9.5 inches in width, and 13 inches in height, so great for storage of items in an office area or chic living room.
