“S” is for “Sundance” – the busiest time of the year for me!

I first heard about Jenna Rose Handmade, a great Etsy.com shop with a fun selection of items, via a recent Etsy homepage feature. You can see the feature here.

“My name is Jenna and my middle name is Rose. I am the mind and maker behind the textile line Jenna Rose,” she says in her interview. “I live with my husband and dog in Hamilton, Ontario, only a short walk to my downtown studio and minutes from the forested trails of the Niagara Escarpment.”

“I studied textiles at NSCAD University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and have been producing my line of textile housewares and accessories full time since graduating almost six years ago,” she continues. “I work in a community filled with creative, passionate people, and I am thankful that I get to spend my time doing what I love, with my dog Beau by my side.”

Loving this pretty fabric I found on Etsy.com!

Here is another photo of the lovely fabric:

“This sweet little design is brand new for 2010 and has been screenprinted by me in my studio,” the Etsy seller writes.  ”Handy for all manner of mini projects – covered buttons, badges and magnets, zipped pouches, patchwork cushions, spectacle cases and the like.”

The fabric measures approximately 10 inches by 14 inches and the ink is water based and has been heat set.  The fabric itself is an oatmeal cotton with natural slubs and flecks of cotton seed.

In the days leading up to Thanksgiving, I wanted to post Etsy shops that are selling items that represent items I am thankful for this year.

Yesterday, I featured a darling handmade tea towel because I am thankful for my recently-found passion in the kitchen.

Today, I was looking for an item that represented my family and I came across this cool family fingerprint tree selling at an Etsy shop called ChristinaElizabethD.

This fingerprint family tree is such an interesting and fun idea!

“Your family will enjoy placing their thumbprint and signature on your tree and you will love having a keepsake to display in your home,” the seller writes in the Etsy item description.

If you are planning to see your family over the holiday season, it would be a great time to fill up the tree with prints and signatures.

Even though my family can sometimes drive me nuts (I’m sure I’m alone in this!), I love them dearly.  This Thanksgiving, I am going to really try to make sure they know it.
