Help the Gulf Coast Collective Shop

Yesterday, I featured a really cute scrabble tile necklace from Etsy seller pinkflowercube. I was really excited to find this necklace because it was a handmade item selling on Etsy that was directly benefitting the National Wildlife Federation and their work in the BP oil disaster in the Gulf.
I put out a message to the Twitterverse seeing if anyone knew of more items like this, which are selling on Etsy.com with some benefit to those impacted by the spill. I was even looking for items that were inspired by the disaster! Anything I could feature from Etsy to help shine a much needed spotlight on this catastrophe.
Literally minutes later (oh how I love Twitter) an Etsy seller Elisabeth Stana from New Jersey sent me a great link!

Thanks to Elisabeth, I was able to browse awesome handmade items aimed to help the Gulf Coast! HelpTheGulfCoast is a collective Etsy shop to help the gulf coast recover from the massive BP oil spill. Etsy sellers have donated their items so that 100% of the proceeds can be given to charity. This collective shop has set up a separate PayPal account. 100% of the proceeds (after etsy & paypal fees) will be donated to OxFam America and the National Wildlife Federation. Both organizations have given the collective shop permission to fundraise on their behalf.
There are so many items in this shop. Honestly, you can find any type of item you want at this shop – from vintage and jewelry to housewares and PDF printables!
I wanted to share some of my favorite items with you. I like how some of these are outright gulf/sea-themed and other items are things I could use for gifts or around the house at any time. If you are shopping on Etsy, why not check out this shop first to see if you can find the item you are looking for here?

- Etsy seller fionadesigns’ “Thank You Greeting Card” – $3.00

Etsy seller AmeliaKayPhotography's "Yellow Tulip Garden - 8x10 Original Fine Art Photograph" - $30.00
A huge thank you to Elisabeth (@FabAsst) for sharing this shop with me, and a pat on the back to each and every Etsy seller who has listed an item or two at HelpTheGulfCoast.
I urge everyone to please follow HelpTheGulfCoast on Twitter @helpgulfcoast, check out the group on Facebook, and read their blog. You can view all of the items listed in this collective Etsy shop by clicking the shop name (HelpTheGulfCoast) at the top of this feature!

Oh my gosh, I adore that lobster bib! So cute!
Thanks so much for sharing this item and the info on how people can be involved in the cleanup effort! I know many of us feel helpless because we have jobs and families and can’t just up and go to don a suit and muck around cleaning up. So having small ways like this feels very empowering!
I would love to donate to such a cause through etsy. What a great idea to put some of our blessing to work for others. Excellent!
As a Mississippi girl, I so appreciate the publicity you are giving to this cause…Thanks Jackie!
