Item:  Sporozoan Swarm Container

I found this unique Etsy item after meeting the seller (PrintTroll) on Twitter.  The seller’s “Sporozoan Swarm Container” is both interesting and slightly confusing.  Many buyers may think of art as a famous painter’s work hanging on the wall in their home, but this Etsy item turns that “art stereotype” around.

I say the item is slightly confusing because I don’t think I have ever seen art quite like this Etsy item. Here’s another photo:

The “Sporozoan Swarms Container” is a grouping of small prints and drawings by the seller PrintTroll.  The twelve pieces of art are grouped together for easy installation and re-installation. The box itself is 10 inches by 10 inches and 1.5 inches thick.  The twelve art pieces are chosen at random and the PrintTroll arranges them in the containter.  However, you can rearrange the art if you want to see them laid out differently!

PrintTroll, aka RobRoy Chalmers, has been making art for over twenty years.   The seller has the belief that “everyone should be able to have art in their home (and not some Monet poster), but art made by an artist who is living and breathing and has something to say.”

I like that the seller thinks everyone should have art in their home and that art needs to be affordable.  This piece is $40.00 – great price for Etsy art!
