Mixed Media Bird

Item: “I Love To Hear The Little Bird Sing” Mixed Media Art
Seller: HoneysuckleLane

I’ve been digging mixed media art lately and there is tons of it on Etsy! I came across this shop (HoneysuckleLane) and wanted to share this peice with all of you!
This item is selling for $60.00 at Etsy.com at HoneysuckleLane’s shop. It’s an acrylic painting on stretched canvas.
I really like the mixed media creative feel. In fact, the seller says in the description that the music notes are from antique sheet music and the words are vintage school cards! So cool!
The piece measures 10 inches by 10 inches square and it’s ready to hang.
Mixed media art on Etsy is so fun… I’m really glad I came across this shop!

How “tweet” it is! This would be perfect for a nursery. I have a similar piece in my daughter Jadyn’s room (of “The Cat and The Fiddle”). Now I know where to look when it comes time for baby #2! Thanks for sharing. – Loren
I love Lana’s bird collage painting! Not only is Lana one of the most creative souls I know, she is also a very nice person.
Check out her fabulous shop…she makes the most wonderful and unique things!

I myself have recently started to do more mixed media art. It’s so free, so forgiving, so liberating. Absolutley no boundaries to any piece that one decides to dream and create. I have been trying to achieve the look you have created as the background, may I please enquire as to what technique you used to achieve the crackled effect? I plan on working with different kinds of crackle paints next but have so far found it a bit difficult to keep some smoother images, (such as the bird in your painting) all the while trying to keep the balance of the crackle effect to the rest of the painting. I know art is alot of trial and error but I figured with such beauty in this painting you have done, it wouldn’t hurt to get some advice from such a talented artist. A reply to my qestion would be much appreciated. Thank you and nice work!
