London Bridge Is Falling Down

Isn’t this photograph stunning? I have been wanting to go to London since… well… forever!
The seller (StarboundStudios) is selling this 5 inch x 7 inch print for $12.00 at Etsy.com. The photograph is of Tower Bridge in London, which the Tower Bridge website says is the “most famous bridge in the world.” Bold statement, chaps, but it might be true!
Because I should probably know more about the “most famous bridge in the world”, I thought some research was in order. Ok, friends, pencils ready?
The Tower Bridge was designed by London’s City Architect Horace Jones with help from John Wolfe Barry. It was completed in 1894 after eight long years of work. There were a total of 432 construction workers dedicated to the project!
In 1952, a London bus had to leap from one part of the bridge, called a bascule, to another part when the bridge began to rise with the bus still on it. Yikes! I’m picturing that scene in “Speed”, but I may be slightly overly dramatic.

I really like black and white photography… All of the details in alot of the London architecture is just amazing to look at….
Beautifully striking…I love photography and looking at others’ views captured on film ~ I get lost while taking pictures…I’d adore getting lost in London!
