I have had a slight obsession with headbands for the past couple years.  And here’s the thing… I wear headbands… a lot.

I think they are so cute and add a little something. They are simply the right thing to add in many outfit choices I come across.

Ever get so into a certain trend or item that you go a bit overboard?

That could totally me with headbands.  I was thinking everything was fine until someone said a comment last month that took me by surprise.

“So good to see you! Awww… you are always wearing headbands!”

Hmmm… mind you there was a hug and a warm smile, but for the first time I questioned my accessory fav.  “Always wearing headbands” like “always have really cute shoes” … or … “always wearing headbands” like “let the headband thing die already.”

It would have looked paranoid to clarify, but I was left unsure if I should say “thanks” or “ouch”.  Pretty sure I just hugged back and moved on, but it was one of those “sock you in the stomach” moments where you kinda black out a little.  Ever get those?  Yes, mine was over a headband comment, but don’t even tell me you guys haven’t got it over an ever-popular “Do you like your new haircut?” from a co-worker.

Regardless, at the end of the day, I adore headbands.  The girl was probably giving a compliment, so I’m not that worried.  However… maybe it was a sign (yes, I just called it a “sign”) that I just need to get some new ones to mix it up? Maybe I need to shop for new headbands to add to the collection?  I think that’s the moral of this story!!

So when I came across this Etsy shop, I felt a burst of excitement.  Yep, tons of headbands!

The one pictured above is my favorite.  I love how this headband (from Etsy seller JenniferBirge) is not too big and elaborate.  I am a total sissy when it comes to accessories, so I have to take serious baby steps.  I think that may have been a reason why headbands are a great accessory for me.  A giant necklace or big earrings seem like a huge leap for me, but a headband is definitely on that baby step path!
