Jeweleee Vintage Turquoise Hand Painted Wooden Beads Vintage Painted Wooden Beads

During the month of September, I am featuring shops that have come my way via my Etsy Item of the Day shop submission form.  And that’s how I learned about Julianne, the seller behind Etsy.com’s Jeweleee!

When I browsed through Jeweleee, Julianne’s hand-painted beads caught my eye.  My favorite are these turquoise vintage finish wooden beads with a brown underlay.  These wooden beads are hand-painted with acrylic paint and coated with a satin finish. They are selling for $3.75 for a set of 25 beads and they measure 3/8 inches (9.5 mm).

Julianne told me she is an energetic designer with a hint of perfectionism that is captivated by the beauty found in everyday objects.  “I am passionate about bringing joy to others through design,” she said.

Julianne says she recently received a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design from Philadelphia University.  “After graduation, I decided to follow the femininity in my heart,” Julianne said.  “With a lot of ambition and determination I founded Jeweleee, a collection of hand-painted beaded jewelry sold on Etsy. I combine my product design skills and understanding of designing for the end user to drive my jewelry designs forward. My recipe for success is mixing both design and fashion inspirations, adding a great deal of color, a dash of texture and a lot of love to get my jewelry designs.”

When she is not crafting, Julianne says she is obsessed with reading blogs.  I am a huge blog addict as well!   She also loves spending time with her family, boyfriend, and friends.  “Currently I am teaching myself how to cook because I was not blessed with a cooking talent,” she says.

When I asked Julianne what other Etsy shops she enjoys, she introduced me to a great find.

I most frequent the shop MaaPstudio,” she told me.  “This small studio uses parian porcelain clay to create contemporary jewelry designs. I love the originality in the designs, the pastel colors and the unique materials used.”

Love, love, love!  Great recommendation Julianne!

Julianne also shared some great advice to others selling their crafts and handmade items on Etsy.  “Since I am a newbie myself, my best advice is to not get discourage when it is slow in the beginning. Always stay positive and believe in yourself and the product you are selling,” she says.  “Get involved in the Etsy community, comment on the forums and treasuries and make connection with bloggers. Be pro-active in marketing your Etsy shop and brand.”

Julianne says her Winter jewelry collection will be added to her shop soon.  Expect Bohemian style with lots of urban blues, wines, muted colors with pops of lipstick red and teal.  Exciting!

You can learn more about Julianne by checking out her blog, following @Jeweleees on Twitter, and looking at her Facebook page.
