Meet Alicia Colina-Ashby, the lovely seller behind Etsy’s LaAlicia shop.

“As a child I enjoyed coloring, origami and being read to. I love to create the unexpected by using colors, textures and found objects,” Alicia told me.  “I want to create things that make people happy — things that provide an unexpected reason to giggle. I hope that my creations will serve as a “muse” throughout your day.”

“My studies have included classical music, design, advertising and the human condition,” she said.  “Coming up with fresh ideas is a process that has always intrigued me. I love to exercise my imagination regularly.”

Alicia’s shop is full of awesome handmade items that are also eco-friendly. My favorite item is this lovely black and white brooch (pictured above) that is selling for $15.00.

“Some of the things I enjoy in life are; learning, loving, sunshine, giggling, friends and family, hugging, and my shoes named Pablo & Paco. I’m a chocolate connoisseur, a chronic people-watcher and an auction tourist. All of these activities feed my brain and nurture my need to create,” she said.

When she isn’t crafting for her Etsy.com shop, Alicia told me she loves to walk, read, photograph, learn new things, and visit her local aquarium.

I love to ask sellers where they like to browse on Etsy.  It’s a great way to find new shops!

Alicia says she enjoys hifijewelry.  “I like that she is also repurposing items that many think are no longer useful,” she said.

Big things are in store for seller Alicia and her shop LaAlicia.  “I’ll be launching my own website later this month,” she said.  “I’m also considering an offer to teach some classes this summer.”
