Item: Poppy and Plum Blogger Template
Seller: 17thAvenueDesigns
Meet Kate Johnson, the awesome designer behind Etsy’s 17thAvenueDesigns. I met Kate via my Etsy Item of the Day shop submission page.
Kate’s shop is really unique and very much something that other Etsy sellers may benefit from. 17th Avenue Design Studio offers custom blog designs, premade blog designs, social networking tools, business branding resources, and some print design.
“I am a full-time student living in Portland, Oregon. I grew up here and absolutely love it! We are so close to the ocean – my favorite place. I enjoy boating, drinking peach tea, organizing things, and blogging,” she told me. “I have had a strong passion for art since I was young, and discovered graphic/blog design a few years ago. I’ve been in love ever since!”
My favorite item in Kate’s pretty shop is this Blogger template, which would be a great design to snag if you’ve thought about blogging, but don’t have time to browse a bunch of templates or funds to custom design one. I am always a bit shocked when I see Etsy sellers that don’t have any social media links. Get out there and spread the word about your craft! Kate’s shop makes it super easy. Here are more of her designs:
Sprucing up your Etsy shop or blog seems pretty simple with the help of Kate!
When she’s not creating new designs to list for her Etsy shop, Kate stays busy.
“In addition to designing, I am also a photographer. I fell into photography a few years ago after starting a personal blog. It’s just a small side business at this point. I do sessions a few times per month. I absolutely love it!” Kate said. “I also love boating, hiking, and swimming.”
“Since I am a graphic/blog designer, I am always perusing Etsy, searching for graphics and other digital resources for my designs. My favorite Etsy shop is Summit Avenue. The seller, Jo, is incredibly talented. Her work is unique, diverse, and beautiful. I am constantly buying graphics from her!” she told me.
Kate shared some great advice for other Etsy sellers with me:
“Believe in your work. Believe that it’s awesome and worth something!” she said. “Be unique and don’t try to copy or conform to what other sellers are doing. Do your own thing! Offer diverse products and excellent customer service. Never stop learning and always keep improving and refining your craft. You’ll be golden!”
So what’s next for 17thAvenueDesigns?
“We recently launched a website where we offer custom blog design, business branding services, social media design, and Etsy shop customization. We are slowly rolling out print design services, too. I’m excited to see where our little business will go!” she told me.
Of course, Kate herself is very social online! You can find her on Facebook, Twitter @17AvenueDesigns, Pinterest and on her blog.
Thanks for sharing your lovely designs, Kate!
